Real Life Stories

Integrated Care Real Life Stories is a new series of audio interviews hosted by Phillip Saucedo, ICC CFO and Board President. You’ll hear real folks tell their stories involving needing and finding high-quality Assisted Living and Memory Care for their loved ones. Chances are, you’re experiencing similar challenges right now. We hope you find these helpful and comforting.

In this recorded interview you’ll hear Terry’s story and the frustration she had finding an Assisted Living facility for her Mom – that she could trust, before discovering Integrated Care Communities.

This is Donna’s story of her mother’s rapid decline into dementia – and what happened. She discusses her experience researching Memory Care facilities and what brought her to Integrated Care Communities.

A.J. recounts his experience trying to care for his ailing companion M.J. Fortunately, A.J. chose Integrated Care Communities, but not until after visiting 200 SoCal long term healthcare facilities. Learn more…

Stephanie’s Mom was slipping into dementia. She promised her mother she’d personally take care of her, but at a point the situation became overwhelming. Moving Mom to an ICC Memory Care residence was the right choice.

This story involves daughter Terry and both her parents declining in physical and mental health at the same time. A challenging situation… thank goodness her folks are now much more stable and happy living with us.

Sarah describes the difficulty and heartbreak of experiencing her mother’s worsening dementia and how ICC Memory Care has improved the quality of life for her Mom – and the entire family.

Heartfelt cards and letters received… thank you so much!

“You were intuitive in making Mom feel comfortable and secure, while at the same time respecting her private personality. Mom spoke fondly of you and how you were always willing to gently help her.

Working with the elderly is hard work with sometimes all too little praise. Thank you for the good work that you do in the benefit of others, who cannot always express their gratitude.”

“As I write this, my Father who is a resident at ICC is in the process of passing away. At this poignant time, I wanted to take a moment to express to you how grateful I am for the wonderful care that my Dad received. I relocated both my Mom and Dad to Moreno Valley from the Big Bear area in order to place my Dad at your facility. Because of the hundreds of hours we have spent at ICC, we have had the opportunity to witness first hand the hard work, caring, and dedication of your caregivers.

My Dad was in Bldg. A-1 and had been a very challenging resident for different reasons at different times. No matter what the need: psychological or physical, the entire A-1 team have risen to the occasion. In addition, they have gone out of their way to make my Mom feel comfortable and welcome, and have provided emotional support as well as friendship. In some ways, I feel that both my parents have been cared for at ICC. We will always be grateful.”

“Thanks again for being there for us when we needed a place for our father. Everyone there was so helpful. The work you all do is so needed and important. This has been a difficult spring for us…”

Ben

“My husband and I are so grateful to all of you for the care you gave my dad (Pop). He was very precious to us and his memory will last forever.

Bless all of you,

Please accept this check for pies for everyone. Please include one lemon meringue as that was Pop’s favorite.”

What was your initial reaction to our community?

“I loved it. I said to myself, this is the place.”

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently when researching assisted living?

“No, except find this place first.”

“Dear ICC friends, we thank you for your many expressions of prayers, kindness and lovely flowers on the passing on my mother, Ruth.

Mom cherished the many friends she had made at ICC and spoke fondly about them often. Thank you for making her a part of your family.”
