In Partnership With Jan Peterson Child Development Center

Their stories are a treasure. Our children are listening.

Our bespoke intergenerational program is a weekly, year-round partnership with the Jan Peterson Child Development Center. Children and residents share real life together — art, music, gardening, meals, and the kind of friendships that change both ends of the bridge.

Why It Matters

Research is clear. Hearts already knew.

Intergenerational programs reduce loneliness, lower depression, and improve cognitive engagement in older adults. For children, they build empathy, language skills, and a comfort with elders that lasts a lifetime.

We didn't build this program because the studies said so. We built it because every time a child walks through our cottages, the whole community lights up.

Visit on a Program Day

A Week in the Program

Six ways our two communities meet.

Story Time

Children gather with residents over picture books — sometimes read, sometimes remembered aloud.

Garden Days

*Coming soon!* Planting, watering, and harvesting together in our shared raised beds.

Music Circle

Singing and dancing together to songs that fill resident rooms and hearts.

Art Exchange

Paintings and drawings travel between the children's center and our senior cottages.

Yoga & Stretching

Everyone needs to move — why not do it together?

Holiday Traditions

Pumpkin carving, holiday cards, valentines, lunar new year — we celebrate the whole year together.
